Farmington Homes for Sale

Farmington is growing

We’re welcoming new neighbors daily!

If you love the countryside and convenience, consider buying one of many beautiful Farmington homes. Located north of Canandaigua and southeast of Rochester, this area is rapidly growing. Beautiful neighborhoods have been popping up lately with plenty of space for families to grow. If neighborhoods aren’t your style, don’t worry! There are plenty of wandering back roads that offer idyllic scenery and sweet country settings.

One of the major sources of growth is due to the proximity of Farmington to the New York State Thruway. Town leadership has spent more than a decade installing infrastructure to prepare for an explosion of development. Now, it’s certainly paying off. Homes are affordable and in an ideal location. As a result, we’ve seen a major increase in the number of new houses being built. And with the increased population, there are also more opportunities for local businesses.

All those houses mean lots of students. The town of Farmington, which sprawls across nearly 40 square miles, is divided into school four districts: Canandaigua, Palmyra-Macedon, Victor and Manchester-Shortsville.

Farmington is a great place to settle! Enjoy easy access to Eastview Mall, Canandaigua Lake, or events along the Erie Canal just a few minutes away!

Connections are key

Farmington homes have access to everything.

Farmington serves as a central location to several other “main” areas: Victor, Canandaigua, Bloomfield, Macedon and Palmyra being among them. All of these towns are within a short drive of Farmington—an easy outing wherever you need to go. The New York State Thruway exits directly into Farmington, making it a gateway to the Finger Lakes. As a result, many businesses and families have chosen to relocate to the area. It’s convenient both for access to people using the thruway and to use it themselves.

The town of Farmington also connects with other areas via the Auburn Trail. The 9.6 mile long pedestrian/biking trail eventually meets up with the Ontario Pathways trail system in the City of Canandaigua and joins Monroe County to Ontario County. The resulting trail system lets people travel on trails all the way from Canandaigua to the Erie Canal and on to Albany, or from the Village of Phelps to Olean in Cattaragus County.

This well-connected community is drawing new residents quickly, largely due to the affordable housing, good education and low taxes. It’s a peaceful blend of countryside and opportunity.

The Racino

Perfect for date nights or fundraisers.

The Finger Lakes Gaming and Race Track has been another big draw to Farmington. The Thoroughbred racetrack first opened in 1962. Since then, a video gaming area with casino-style games has been added, along with several dining facilities and many entertainment events. There are live bands every Friday and Saturday night all year long, and charitable events are often hosted at the racetrack.

The racetrack is a huge entertainment draw, but also provides employment for a few hundred people in the area. Whether the racino is drawing tourists in or paying its employees at the end of the week, it helps boost local economy on multiple levels.

An unexpected result of having a racetrack in town is that it has really given residents the chance to shine. Farmington is home to many amazing individuals. Some of those people have organized an award-winning Thoroughbred adoption program at the Finger Lakes Gaming and Racetrack. The Finger Lakes Thoroughbred Adoption Program helps retired racehorses find new homes after their racing careers are over. It’s this kind of involvement and care that showcase how Farmington residents are truly amazing people.
